deconstruction leads to construction

Not of Ela Nord’s jewellery can be assigned to collections or series. Some simply emerge. A shape may interest her, someone commissions a piece, or she experiments with materials. Just like Audrey Hepburn, who in Breakfast at Tiffany's, knits an undefinable piece and says it might become a house.

Most commonly, her collections are formed in her head, following a specific idea, after a process that is resolved by her thoughts in time. Although a concept for a collection can occupy her for up to several years, she finds it is also important to leave space for the unexpected and unplanned, for the spontaneous and playful.
